Chapter 4 & 5

Chapter 4 talked about the importance of legibility when dealing with typography. It explains how crucial it is for designers to pay attention to every detail in order for every letter to look right within the word. Ways to look at these details and fix what is needed includes looking at the spacing, kerning, leading, whether it is a serif or san serif font, type size, etc.

Chapter 5 introduces the use of the grid and how it can help with the layout of your design. The grid is a really useful tool when dealing with type because it makes the end product more effective for the viewers as well as the designer.
